Juddu is an association based in Pikine which is supporting education of around 100 children from the poorest families in the neighbourhood. This year we support them by providing laptops for their ‘computer room’. Computers are part of the children's education in school an currently JUDDU does not have the support necessary.

GAC is an association based in Gorree Island. Its main objective is to promote Capoeira in Senegal and further in Africa. Currently, the association is financed mainly on basis of courses given in different Dakar Schools. The association also supports Goree school children and gives free classes to a number of children from vulnerable families. GAC asked for help in financing the BATIZADO (outfits for the Goree Kids (30) and the tents), the main event of the season which takes place in May on Goree Island. It is the moment where young and older people who practice Capoeria come together to share a 'batizado ritual'.

SPER is an association that fights against the marginalization of street children through actions contributing to their protection and social and family reintegration.

They have a center that provides accommodation, food /three times a day), school support and all kinds of support activities to marginalized children. We are supporting them this year with new mattresses and bedcovers, 1 microwave and 1 oven.

Center for disabled (intellectual) children and young adults based in Ouakam is planning on re-viving the psychomotricity room for the children. Space/room dedicated for psychomotricity activities exists but needs to be equipped.

Well known pottery atelier for handicapped (mute/deaf) children in a building owned by the Ouakam municipality. Serves also as sleep over facility for several children. Have asked for funding for their kiln repair, we have suggested to build a new kiln as the difference is quite small. Also, Colombin has asked help for funding the renovation of sanitary installation (toilet and shower).

This public school is based in Ouakam and is hosting >500 children (majority girls). It is ‘managed’ by “comite de gestion” and director of school. The main objective of the project is to promote science education and approach to technology. They would like to build a FABLAB (Elite science) which would first serve to the students of the school but would progressively be opened up to other elementary schools and colleges in Ouakam as well as the community (generate income for supplies).

This center has re-opened 3 years ago with the help of DWG Funding. Mainly focusing on the reintegration of women and girls in difficulty, the center has a shelter Ker Rose Virginie for vulnerable women, in a situation of prostitution and migrants. It has also opened a mini 'social' nursery for babies just over a year ago, as there was a need for this service not only for the women living in the shelter but also in the neighbourhood. Most of the women were unable to work as they had nobody o take care for their children. This nursery, although the service is not for free, the fee is very little and some children are accepted for free.

The nursery has asked for help in creating a positive environment for the children. (toys, plants, etc)

DWG Funding allowed this amazing association based in Noflaye to rehabilitate majority of roofs that are essential for hosting groups. The benefits of these visits being vital for the operation of the village.

This year, SOS Tortues has asked for help in renovating the fences as these have not been redone since the opening of the ‘Village’ in 2000.
