About Us
The Dakar Women’s Group (DWG) is a charitable organization working to improve the well-being of communities in and around Dakar. We focus on social welfare, education, women and children’s health, cultural development, and entrepreneurship. Initially created as a gathering for social and professional contact, the club has grown to over 200 dedicated volunteer members representing more than 50 countries. Due to its open and welcoming nature DWG has volunteers who lend their diverse talents, skills, and life experiences. Through the generosity of members, sponsors and donors, the Dakar Women’s Group can contribute to the wellbeing of Senegalese communities in need.
Our leadership team
The Dakar Women’s Group now has an advisory board, and an all-volunteer Executive Committee which is a team of coordinators from our four main committees responsible for the day to day activities of the organization. Collectively, they are a source of drive, enthusiasm and resourcefulness for our members. Their ability to work together has not only unified the membership but gave it strength. They have the responsibility of developing policies and procedures for the organization, acknowledge member’s needs and ensure that the overarching mission of DWG is fulfilled.
