Promoting the arts

The Dakar Women’s Group (DWG) Art Show is one of the organization’s major fundraising events. This annual exhibit and sale of the works of artists in Senegal has two goals: to raise funds for DWG’s charitable activities, and to showcase and support local artists. For this year’s 20th edition 40 artists, sculptures, painters, and tapestry makers were selected. These include both well-known artists who have exhibited with DWG for many years, and others who are showing their works for the first time at the show.

Nio Far

“Nio Far” (we are together in Wolof) the theme for this year’s art show, evokes our longing to be back in person after two years online and also demonstrates the gratitude we feel for many of the artists who have been together with us over the years as we celebrate 20 years of partnership!
